August 16, 2010

(picture taken from a different website, but it looks exactly the same)

I’ve been trying to follow weight watchers for a few weeks now, and one morning I had a craving for french toast.  So this is what I came up with, and it tastes great!  I’ve been having it almost every morning since.

Original Recipe:

2 slices Aunt Millie’s “Fiber for Life” Whole Wheat Bread

2 Egg whites

4 oz. skim milk

1/2 t. vanilla extract

2 t. Ideal natural sweetener

1 t. cinnamon

dash of all spice

Combine all ingreadients in a small shallow casserole dish.  Place bread into batter.  Let soak on both sides until all the liquid is absorbed.  Toast battered bread in large skillet until slightly browned on each side.  Top with desired topping.

2 WW points

Optional add in’s

1 T. Coffeemate ‘Cinnamon Bun’ or ‘Vanilla’ Creamer

1/2 t. nutmeg

Optional toppings:

1/8 cup Lite Pancake Syrup = 50 calories

1 t. Brown sugar = 15 calories

“I can’t believe it’s not butter” Spray = 0 calories

Original French Toast with 1/8 cup Lite syrup: 3 WW points
