Baked Stuffed French Toast
This is a recipe I came up with today that sounds reallly yummy. I think I’m going to give it a try next time I have company, or am going someplace early in the morning. Staff meeting, maybe? (I hope it turns out like this picture I found!)
1 pound bread (I’m going to use old Zingerman’s bagels I’ve been freezing)
2 cups milk
2 t. vanilla
1/4 t. cinnamon
Combine. Slice bagels thin, soak in mixture overnight.
1 1/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup fruit (banana, strawberries)
Place 1/2 soaked bread in a casserole dish. Spread stuffing over bread. Spread remaining soaked bread over stuffing. Bake for 40 minutes uncovered at 350 degrees.
